Joby Foster
I’m a software engineer working on trading systems, security research, and software I want to use myself.
I joined Aori after graduating from Base Camp Coding Academy in May 2024. Since then, I’ve worked on protocol backends, trading strategies, and the systems that keep them running.
I work mostly in Rust and TypeScript, from backend services to the tools people use to monitor and manage them.
Aori
At Aori, I build the systems that execute and manage trades. I worked on the original Elixir backend and much of its rewrite in Rust.
- Built Rust systems for trade execution and stablecoin rebalancing.
- Built a TypeScript solver for Everclear auctions.
- Built most of the interface for strategy analytics, accounting exports, and trading controls.

My main research project is the Autonomous EVM Bug Bounty Engine. I’m exploring how much of security research can be automated while keeping the results verifiable.
I also make things for fun: a writing app, Cinehome for movies and TV, and Overburn, a racing prototype. Cinehome gets regular use; they’re all projects I enjoy talking about.
